Dixie Daze

Nostalgia buffs will again converge in Chicago’s south suburbs to take part in the Drivin’ the Dixie Cruise. This event, set for Saturday, June 18, 2011, aims to raise awareness of the historic importance of Dixie Highway as well as the towns and villages that emerged along its path.

Momence will again serve as the final destination along the Drivin’ the Dixie route. Residents provide an enthusiastic mid-afternoon welcome at Island Park, while enjoying the day-long Dixie Daze extravaganza. Activities include children’s rides and games, petting zoo, Turbo Turtle Race and local food vendors.
